Is this for me?

1 of 5Is this for me?You’re autistic, ADHD, AuDHD or highly sensitive, including if you were diagnosed late or are still exploring.

You’ll probably benefit from working with me if…

You’re autistic, ADHD, AuDHD or highly sensitive, including if you were diagnosed late or are still exploring.

You’re worn out from trying so hard to explain what it’s like to be you.

You’ve tried traditional talk therapy and found it hasn’t quite “worked.”

You’re tired of masking, and want to know (and maybe even love) the person underneath.

You’re running on empty and want to heal an over-worked nervous system.

You’d like to reconnect with your creativity: art is welcome, but never required.

You want a therapist who gets it from lived experience, not just training.

How I work

3 of 5How I workNeurodivergent people attend differently. The world calls, and so often, it’s not a choice to just look away.

Attending to your he(art).

Neurodivergent people attend differently. The world calls, and so often, it’s not a choice to just look away.

For many, healing is about coming back online to be a feeling, sensitive being towards ourselves, and reclaiming our most precious and most mined resource: our uniquely wired attention.

Being yourself can be truly unsafe when you aren’t being supported and met in the world. The world we exist in is not built for neurodivergent people and sensitive souls. Only in being fully met, human to human, can we be supported to take the permission to make profound meaning, rediscover creative joy, cultivate inner kindness, and live from a place that honors our neuro-complex authenticity.

As both a human being and a therapist, I strive to honor differences and center the lived experience of every person I have the honor to work with.

What’s a session like?

4 of 5What’s a session like?Weekly, one-on-one over Zoom, for clients located anywhere in California.

Undivided attention.

I usually meet with clients weekly for individual therapy, depending on need. Sessions follow a steady, predictable structure, which helps heal attachment wounds, relational trauma, and build trust and regulation.

You’re welcome to use words or not. Come as you are and express yourself however feels right. You don’t have to make art or call yourself an artist, but in our time together, you may if you want. If you make something, there is no expectation to produce something finished or pretty.

If you need to lie down in bed during session, rest on the floor, use a heating pad, or be buried in blankets, I support that kind of thing.

Instead, we’ll focus on cultivating presence and compassion, discovering meaning, attuning to process and taking permission to become freely and authentically you, all within the frame of our therapeutic relationship.

Being reflected and met and trusted in your experience by a matched-neurotype therapist can be life-saving. If by chance we’re not a good fit, I can surely support you in connecting with neurodivergent and affirming therapists and resources for your journey ahead.

Sessions are one-on-one over Zoom, for clients located anywhere in California.

For many, therapy with me may look like:

Embodying your life, finding your voice, and saying no to a life that requires dishonesty to live. Reclaiming your attention, and bringing that attention back to its origin place. Reorienting to fear, and relating to how you feel with a sense of curiosity, from self. Being supported and mirrored and held as you grow and navigate life with neurodivergence (by a matched-neurotype therapist!). Building safety and accommodation in the spaces of yourself and your environment. Cultivating your creativity and embracing the power of your unique attention in the world. Crediting yourself for the work and weight of what you have survived and created and experienced in this life of yours. Relating to yourself with compassion, warmth and love, when what is true is hard to hold alone. Honoring what is most true to your experience, and embracing life through your values. Stepping into what it feels like to be witnessed in all of your depth.

Therapy with Laury invites the overdue permission to be you, and be witnessed and held for all of your complexity. To reclaim the full, silly, beyond-judgment space of childhood, and feel what it’s like to be deeply witnessed, seen, and accepted as your authentic self.
