FAQ

Questions people often ask.

Fit

Who do you work with?

Adults of all ages, teens 13–19, and couples. Many of my clients are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD or highly sensitive, including people who were diagnosed late or are still exploring. Sessions are online, for anyone located in California.

Do I need an official diagnosis?

No. Self-identified and questioning neurodivergence is welcome here. I wrote more about this in the Journal: “Do I Need an Official Autism or ADHD Diagnosis to Start Neuro-Affirming Therapy?”

Do I need to be good at art?

No. You don’t have to make art or call yourself an artist, but in our time together, you may if you want. If you make something, there is no expectation to produce something finished or pretty.

What if we’re not a good fit?

If by chance we’re not a good fit, I can surely support you in connecting with neurodivergent and affirming therapists and resources for your journey ahead.

Fees

How much does therapy cost?

Individual sessions (adults and teens 13–19) are $195 for 50 minutes. Extended sessions are $295 for 90 minutes. Couples sessions are $225 for 50 minutes. I keep a limited number of reduced-fee spots for people in financial need.

Do you take insurance?

No. Sessions are private pay, and I don’t bill insurance. You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost.

Logistics

Do you see clients in person?

Sessions are one-on-one over Zoom, for clients located anywhere in California. If you need to lie down in bed during session, rest on the floor, use a heating pad, or be buried in blankets, I support that kind of thing.

How often would we meet?

I usually meet with clients weekly, depending on need. Sessions follow a steady, predictable structure.

What does “AMFT” mean?

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m a Registered AMFT (#158568) in California, practicing under the supervision of Lori Crowley, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #121471, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #10892.
